If you plan to use the MoPub SDK to load and display ads from Chartboost via mediation, use this article for integration instructions and information unique to the ad network. To learn more about how MoPub mediation works, refer to our MoPub Network Mediation article.
Supported Ad Formats

Download and Integrate
To download the Chartboost adapter, navigate to the Mediation Integration Tool. You must also download the Chartboost SDK:
AndroidManifest: Chartboost adapters are released as an Android Archive (AAR) file starting with version 22.214.171.124. The AAR includes the required Manifest data for Chartboost. As a result, you no longer need to update your
AndroidManifestmanually for any generic data, such as permissions and Activities. Any other app-level placement configuration required by Chartboost must be manually entered into the
Android build requirements: On Android, Chartboost SDK depends on two Google Play Services dependencies. Make sure the following dependencies are installed on your Android (and Unity to Android) projects:
Things to Know
eCPM value: eCPM data can be manually entered in the MoPub dashboard from Chartboost unless Auto CPM is enabled. On the Chartboost dashboard, eCPM for your campaign can be found under Analytics -> Campaign. It is recommended to check these values often and update in MoPub as necessary.
Waterfall ranking: To top-rank Chartboost in the mediation waterfall, follow these instructions.
Chartboost named locations: When setting up Chartboost for your MoPub Ad Units, leaving the “Location” field blank will default to the “Default” Chartboost named ad location value. In your waterfall setup, if you have multiple occurrences of Chartboost with more than three different locations associated, doing this is not recommended. If you need to use more than three locations, contact Chartboost directly. Read more about using custom named locations in Chartboost here.
Set Up Your Chartboost Account
Follow Chartboost’s instructions to sign up for a Chartboost account.

For Rewarded Video, under App Settings, select Rewarded Video, and add the values for Rewarded Currency Name and Reward per View.
By default the Chartboost SDK displays UI elements before and after the ad, detailing the rewards. If this is not your desired UX, consider disabling pre-roll and post-roll settings.
Migrate Chartboost from Custom Native Setup
You will need the App ID and App Signature to set up the Chartboost ad unit in MoPub. In your Chartboost dashboard for the app, navigate to App Settings → Basic Settings to locate your App ID and App Signature.
Network Reporting and Auto CPM
The following setup is required to take advantage of Auto CPM. To enable Chartboost network reporting and Auto CPM:
In the Network settings page for Chartboost:
enable reporting access
provide the User ID and User Signature
To find the User ID and User Signature, in the Chartboost dashboard, from the Account dropdown, navigate to API Explorer. Note, User ID and User Signature credentials are tied to Chartboost Account’s User Login. If the credentials are obtained under a specific Chartboost Dashboard User Login and this User Login account gets deleted, the credentials will no longer be valid and will need to be updated. Navigate to the Auto CPM preferences page and turn on Auto CPM.
Test an Ad
We recommend that you test your Chartboost integration using MoPub mediation test mode to verify that the adapter works as expected. Test mode must be set up on both the MoPub side and the Chartboost side.

Chartboost supports test mode in its UI. For Chartboost, you can enable test mode at the campaign level, with a time limit. Refer to Chartboost’s instructions for enabling the test mode in the Chartboost UI.
