  • Search: Enter your live applications name and click search
    • A list of applications will appear according to the search name you’ve entered
    • Select your application
    • Once you select your application all the information for your application will automatically be applied

How To Create An Ad Unit

Your application will require one or more ad units in order to show ads. Once you’ve created your application you’ll automatically be directed to create your ad unit for your app.

New Ad Unit Example

  • Name: Name your ad unit
  • Device: Select your platform choice - Phone or Tablet
  • Format: Select the ad format type - Banner, Medium, Fullscreen, Native, Rewarded Video or Custom.
    • Banner/Medium - Frequency caps is an optional field but refresh rate is required. The refresh rate is the number of seconds until the next ad unit displays. For example, if you set a refresh rate of 30 seconds, the second ad will display 30 seconds later. In general, a 30 refresh rate is optimal depending on your specific application and ad types.
    • Fullscreen - When creating fullscreen units, you will want to ensure they break out portrait and landscape units depending on the orientation of your app.
    • Native - If you select a Native ad format, you will be able to specify the positions of your ads with native location control.
    • Rewarded Video - You have the option to add single or multiple currency options. You are also able to set up server side callbacks to ensure secure rewarding.
    • Custom - You can use this format at your discretion. If there is a customized size you would like to create they are able to do so with this format. Please note that Marketplace will not be able to bid on this ad format as the unit will be not be a standard ad format size.
  • Once you have completed all of the required fields, click “Save” at the bottom right and a Code Integration page will appear. Each ad unit you create will have a unique Ad Unit ID, instructions on how to integrate your ad into your app, and the option to email the instructions to as many recipients.

1. How does waterfall geo-filtering work?

You can filter for single OR multiple geos to view different waterfalls:

  • Single geo-filter: If you filter for one country, let’s say US, you will see any ad source in the waterfall that includes US targeting. This means that you could see lines that target US/UK/RO, US only, ROW that includes the US, etc.

  • Multiselect geo-filter: If you geo-filter for multiple countries, let’s say US and CA, you will see ad sources in the waterfall targeted to US OR CA or both US & CA. You could see lines targeted to US only, CA only, US and CA, US/CA/RO/UK, ROW that includes either US or CA, etc.

2. Is it possible to filter by ROW or exclude countries from the geo-filter?

Yes. You can use the “Select all” link to select all geos and unselect the few that you’d like to exclude.

3. When I apply a geo-filter, does the data (req, imp, clicks, etc.) update?

Yes. All the data will update based on the geo-filters you have put in place. This means both the charts and the data in the columns of the waterfall update based on the geos selected.

4. When I apply a geo-filter, the impression column changes to display X of Y impressions. What does this mean?

For example, if a line item targets both US and CA and we filter only to CA, the line item will say 10 of 50 impressions under the impression column meaning that 10 of the 50 impressions come from CA.

5. If I filter by priority, from highest to lowest, will the secondary filter - rate - be sorted from highest to lowest since that’s how I view my waterfall?

6. Is this the only location I can update my eCPMs now?

No, you can still update your eCPMs in the manner that you do today: in the Segments tab, Marketplace tab, line item details view, or the new order details page. The new ad unit details page gives you easy access to update those rates instead of going to other tabs to update.

7. Will the changes to priority and CPMs be automatically reflected everywhere else in the UI (and where else)?

Yes, they will match and reflect the data on the pre-existing pages where we had this info: Segments, Marketplace tab, order details, and line item details pages.

8. Why can I not change the priority on some of the priority 12 lines?

If priority is not editable for certain waterfall items, it’s because it’s either a network segment CPM or Marketplace tab price floor, which are both fixed at priority 12. If you want to change those priorities, you can pause that row and create a new line item to adjust the priority in the ad unit detail page.

9. Where is the info button?

It’s located in the Ad source column under the blue circle with three dots

10. Where is the integration code for my ad units?

You can access that information by clicking on the dropdown by “Edit ad unit” and selecting “View code integration.”

Edit Ad Unit Dropdown

11. What data do publishers receive when clicking “export”?

The data exported will be for the date range you have filtered on the page and will include all the metrics you find on the page

  • Date
  • Requests
  • Impressions
  • Fill Rate
  • Clicks
  • CTR
